PhotoSplit allows users to create photo collages either by taking new photos or by selecting them from existing photos. Users select a desired layout, fill it with photos, and then upload to their favorite sharing service (Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, or Tumblr).

PhotoSplit makes is very easy to get the perfect photo collage, in a few important ways:
- The camera mode has a preview function that zooms out so the user can see the entire collage while taking a picture. This makes it easy to line up the phone for a perfect composition.
- Users can pan and zoom the photos to get the perfect layout, or to create some pretty unique art!
- Users can easily upload to their favorite sharing sites
- There is a special layout mode that allows users to stack photos on top of each other, with various transparency and blending modes.
